This might be my favorite thing about It’s Always Sunny, and I’ve only just noticed it on this millionth re-watch.
I kept noticing Charlie has some weird tattoo/scar on his arm, that I had never noticed before, so I googled about it and Glenn Howerton mentioned that it’s supposed to be a scar from when Mac and Charlie were trying to act hard for Mac’s dad and Charlie is in the background giving himself a tattoo, but apparently stopped because it hurt too much and it’s never once in 7 seasons since been spoken about on the show.
So it seems that they keep putting it on Charlie Day’s arm every single episode they shoot solely to keep up continuity for something they’ve never actually mentioned in the show.
I also just wanted to add this and thank the OP for pointing this out to us so I could have yet another layer of appreciation for this show
